"Single" (more on that later) mother of two twentysomethings that are turning out pretty darn good in spite of me, higher ed administrator who likes her job, but can't wait until she can hang up the spurs for good and do some of her OWN recreating!! Most of my spare time, now that I am finally finding some, is spent working with a therapeutic riding group. It's rapidly becoming my passion for a lot of reasons - good people, good animals working toghether to produce some good results. It's been my therapy in what has been a rather tough year.

Why a tough year? Back to the "single". Gather, you don't HAVE a category for me. Technically I'm divorced, have been for quite a while now. About 5 years ago I got back together with the love of my life from college, and we spent the next four+ years in inseperable company, though we never married, didn't really see the need. He died from lung cancer last fall. So what now? I go back to being "divorced"? I don't think so. And as my father said last June when, the day after my mother's funeral, the lady downstairs asked him how it felt to be single again (my father NEVER gets mad, mind you, but THAT time??? And I don't blame him one bit), "I am NOT single. I am a widower, and NOT by choice!". Legally I may not be a widow, but I can't imagine it feeling much different. Still sucks.
